site not secure [SOLVED]
before, when i would click on my admin pc button it would take me to a secure page.

now, when i click on it, it's reading "not secure" in the url bar. it's doing it to me on every site. did jcink change secure status on the sites or is there something wrong with mine?

when i made the mock up using regular coding this worked just fine, so i know that my coding, itself, was working. however, when i tried to shove it into place for the actual post templates, it's only calling odd numbers!

#cPosts .posts8 { height:30px; position:absolute; top:0px; right:0px; }
#cPosts .button-small { width:75px; height:30px; padding:0px; border-left:1px solid #d8d5d5; text-align:center; font-family:source sans pro; color:#684d64; font-size:9px; text-transform:uppercase; font-weight:900; line-height:30px; letter-spacing:1px; float:left; }
#cPosts .button-small:nth-child(even) { background-color:#fdfdfd; }
#cPosts .button-small:nth-child(odd) { background-color:#f9f9f9; }

<div class="posts8"><!-- |report_link| --><!-- |delete_button| --><!-- |edit_button| --><!-- |quote_button| --></div>

<span class='button-small'>Quote</span>

on the regular coding attempt, the buttons varied in background color. however, when they are in place properly on the post template, they're only showing the "odd" background color and when i use inspect element on them, it's only acknowledging them all as odd as well.

i have tried swapping "span" to "div" and that didn't help.

one of my biggest peeves as an admin (and i know judging from threads on resource sites that it's a problem for others as well) is people registering their account names wrong. so i have three different ideas that could cut down on the frustration associated with this.

1. a way to make it so the name of an account automatically goes into all caps, all lowercase, or proper case when registering. there's a yes/no option in the acp for doing this to thread titles so if it could be used on registering accounts....

2. make it where a board error occurs when someone registers the name wrong. the same kind of error you would get if you didn't put in the captcha or didn't fill in all the required profile fields or check the box. just something that says !!! hey do it right !!!

3. for the name change function to be case sensitive. it would cut down a lot of time and fuss if you could go from "rose" to "ROSE" without the step in between!

so on my site i use kismet's toggle chat code and a fixed margin to keep my board in place when the sidebar is open.

what i'm wondering is - how can i make it so when my chat box is closed (folded in the side) my board scoots over to fill the space. so basically the board would be positioned relative to if the chat box was open or not.

i've seen it on sites before, i just don't know how. maybe they use a different toggle script? any help would be greatly appreciated.

apologies in advance as i try to explain my problem because it's a bit of a mess. any help would be greatly appreciated.

problem 1. so i coded a custom posts page and made fancy buttons for it. the problem is, these fancy buttons are the same ones being utilized on the top of the pm center messages! and it's causing some wonky to go down in there.

so basically i'm asking if it'll mess anything up on the board outside of the messages to add display:none to the class (keep in mind this class isn't being used on the posts anymore because i've customized it). and if it's not feasible to just remove those from the pm center, is there a way i could at least get them to sit side-by-side instead of on top of each other? i can post my codes for these if the first option won't work.

problem 2. i use the advanced quote and code boxes from chakka and they're no longer working with my custom post profile. i'm not familiar enough with javascript to see what needs to be in my code in order to make them work again.

my custom post code

 <div id="new-posts">
    <div id="entry#<!-- |pid| -->" class="new-post group<!-- |g_id| -->-post-normal">

<div id="cPosts"><div class="GROUP<!-- |g_id| -->">
<a name='entry<!-- |pid| -->'></a>
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr>

<td style="width:240px; vertical-align:top;"><!-- |mini_profile| --></td>

<td style="width:698px; vertical-align:top;">
<div style="width:698px; height:130px;"></div>

<div class="posts1"><div class="posts2">
<!-- |report_link| --></font> posted on: <!-- |post_date| -->

<div style="width:688px; padding:5px;">
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr>

<td class="posts3"><div class="posts4"><div class="posts5">
<div id="pid_<!-- |pid| -->">
<!-- THE POST <!-- |pid| --> --><div class='postcolor'><!-- |post| --></div><!-- THE POST -->

<td style="width:5px;"></td>

<td class="posts6"><div class="posts7">
<a href="#" onclick="link_to_post(<!-- |pid| -->); return false;"><div class="postbuttons1"><div class="postbuttons2" title="direct link to post"><i class="fa fa-link"></i></div></div></a>
<!-- |edit_button| -->
<!-- |quote_button| -->
<!-- |delete_button| -->
</div><!-- |mod_checkbox| --></td>

<div style="width:938px; height:60px;"></div>

the script
// Title: Advanced Quote and Code Boxes
// Author: Chakka
// Version: 1.0.1
var expand_qc = "<i class='fa fa-caret-down'></i>";
var collapse_qc = "<i class='fa fa-caret-up'></i>";
var show_first_quote = true;
var collapsible_codes = true;
var code_auto_hide = true;

--the rest of the script-- removed for privacy
