Hi All,

We have a member on our site whose alerts are randomly disappearing after they came back from a hiatus. At first I thought it could be because the old alerts were being pruned by the system, as described in the Notes for the Alert System - "Alerts are kept for up to 90 days - they are otherwise pruned. This is to keep the system running fast and efficiently."

But it seems that even the newer alerts for this member are being pruned and, as far as we can tell, it looks like it's only happening to this user. The user does have alerts enabled to push all alerts to her parent account on all subaccounts and when she first logged on after her hiatus there were alerts populating for her that were from as far back as May 14th. Everything from May 3rd or earlier was pruned.

She then screenshotted the 3 alerts that were left in her inbox.

And while we were trying to figure this out, a few hours later, those three alerts were pruned too.

I couldn't find any similar issues for what we're getting on our site, and again it seems to only be doing this for this one member, I have alerts in my control panel from as far back as May 21st. I hope someone can help or offer some advice for why this could be happening!

I was wondering if someone could help me with a script I'm using on my board. Although it's not something that's created by Jcink, I know there's a lot of people in the General Support forum that know way more JavaScript than me (my knowledge of scripting is about 0). And I know this is a popular script that many sites use, so they may have the same question as I do.

If this isn't the proper place to ask this questions just let me know. I'll preface this by saying that I've already contacted the creator of the script but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I am using a push menu script created by MERC (link to script) and I noticed that when I first load my board I see that the state of the push menu is set to "Undefined", which shows up in my menu bar:

It's supposed to show an icon from Font Awesome:

but I'm guessing it shows undefined as default because the user hasn't selected an option (open or closed menu bar) when they first visit the site (after leaving the menu bar open or closed the script leaves a cookie for the user to remember the option that was last selected).

I was wondering if there's anything I could add or change the script so that would choose the open option automatically instead of showing "Undefined" in the menu bar area?

Additionally, I did edit the script Merc is using to show icons instead of the default "Open" or "Closed" text that they have on their test site. My board is located at: (I haven't opened yet because I am still working on the skin). I've copied my edits below:

Put this just before the body tag ends but
above the push-menu div. You can delete this
when you are done.

var $body = $('body'),
    $btn = $('#push-menu-toggle'),
    $menu = $('#push-menu'),
    menu_state = $.cookie('my_cookie_name'),
    viewportX = $(window).width();

var cookieValue = $.cookie('my_cookie_name');

if ( cookieValue === '<span title="Show Sidebar" class="fas fa-chevron-circle-right"></span>' ) {
} else {
$.cookie('my_cookie_name', menu_state);

$('.cookie-is').prepend().html( '<em>' + $.cookie('my_cookie_name') + '</em>');
  if ( $body.hasClass('small-menu') ) {
    menu_state = '<span title="Show Sidebar" class="fas fa-chevron-circle-right"></span>';
  } else {
    menu_state = '<span title="Hide Sidebar" class="fas fa-chevron-circle-left"></span>';
  $.cookie('my_cookie_name', menu_state);

  $('.cookie-is').prepend().html( '<em>' + $.cookie('my_cookie_name') + '</em>');

I was wondering if a variable could be added for the forum row so that I'd be able to show post icons from the index page. I noticed that the <!-- |posticon| --> variable will show up for topic rows and post rows, but not the forum rows.

The reason why it's needed for me is because the site I help admin was planning on using the post icons to include common tags for posts, like the trigger warning [tw] tag. And while you'd be able to see the post icon in the topic and post rows, if someone was clicking a thread from the index they wouldn't realize it was triggering until after they clicked on the thread because they wouldn't see that post icon. And because we want a safe and welcoming environment for our members, this is no bueno.

As far as I could tell, this wasn't an option and I was wondering if it could be?

I've had a problem ever since I enabled Quick Edit on my board, Quick Edit just refuses to work.

I thought it was because my Custom HTML Templates had tables (including the mini profile), but I went back and meticulously removed all tables from my code and it's still not working.

My board is located here (it's not open yet)

Hi! I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I'm switching from Black's CFS over to the HTML Templates. I'm trying to hide empty fields using the code from here.

But I realized this won't work because the empty fields will not default to N/A anymore, they are blank instead. Until a default value for empty fields is possibly implemented I was wondering if there was a script I could use that would act like the naremove script I had been using.

Basically I want to be able to hide or remove an entire class if the field is left empty.
