so if i upload something to the file manager, obvs it provides a direct link to that file - however, the file is wrong? it still provides me with an http link rather than https, but then my files don't actually work.

max rockatansky: If the file is not private, can you please post an example link, as I am not able to reproduce this issue. Your filemanager direct links should be prefixed with
https://files.jcink.net/ or
http://files.jcink.net/ and should work no matter what you upload.

if it makes a difference, i mainly use the file manager to upload fonts? but here's a screenshot of what it looks like in my acp - i always have to go in and manually add the S to the url.

If you are not accessing the Admin CP via HTTPS, the file manager will not give you HTTPS links.
This will change at the end of 2017.
Now, if you *are* accessing it via https and it's still giving you http links, then there's a problem.
Fonts are one of those things that do need to be included via https for sure IF you are using HTTPS -- , or won't work over it.

If you are using a custom skin, it may be that the link to the Admin CP is not linking to HTTPS for some reason if it was hard-set in the board wrappers. Board link and I'll take a look.
