I finally figured out the problem, but I'm not really sure how to fix it.

I have a category that's set to "hidden from forumhome list - can access via URL - removed from forum jump." The subsections are all set so members have permission to read. I was testing it out and apparently some members can see and some are being denied access. Turns out some of them are using our original .jcink URL, others are using the .org URL. People on the .org can see when I link to the .org page; people on .jcink can see when I link to the .jcink page. Otherwise, it's access denied.

I went ahead and tested this with other (visible) member-only sections of the forum, as well. Same issue. They only have access when given a link with their in-use domain URL.

Is there some sort of setting I need to activate so that I can use either link and all members will have access, regardless of which URL they're using? Or some redirect function to get everyone on the same URL? (I am using namecheap)

I have a forum where posting new threads is turned off (under settings- Root Forum Option: Allow posting in this forum? set to 'no'). I would like to have the forum rules still show up at the top (over the names of the subforums). Right now it'll let me edit the forum rules, but they do not show up on the page. Anyone know how to do this?

I've got a weird situation and I'm not sure if it's even possible to do this, but here we go!

what I need: A way to give members a link to a thread/popup with some information. I need several of these (20+)

Idea 1: Hiding threads, but having readable on link
Is there a way to hide threads from a group, while still having them be readable on link? So if I want a section that's admin-group-only, but I want to be able to link members to individual threads. I've played with the settings a bit to try to make this work, but I haven't had much luck.

Idea 2: Using help files
So I think this could be the easy solution, but I don't know much about the help files, can't find helpful support threads, and the documentation for these seems to be missing Administration documentation). My questions here are (1) how do I link to individual help files?, (2) can I use bbcode to style text in the help files?, and (3) is there a max number of help files?

Thanks for all your assistance. I know this is an unusual request!

Just a quick question:

So I want mods to be able to warn users. I have mod permissions on in the Warning System setup so that's done. Is there a way to just globally allow all mods to warn? I have all my mods in a user group, but I can't find it under group permissions. I can't seem to find a way to give them permission to without going into ACP moderation and changing permissions on each individual mod.

And on the off chance I have to change them individually, if I have one mod on two subforums, do I need to give them permission on both subforums or if I do one will that give the mod permission?

I'd like to create a notice on the front page of the site, between the banner and the forums. I really just need a small box where I can put some site rules, but I only want this showing up on the front page. I am using the forum rules boxes within individual subforums for something else, so using those won't work. Is there any built-in way to do this, or do I need to add a div into the skin?
