 Adding dropdown alerts
Hi there,

I need some help with putting in a dropdown for alerts on this skin. I have tried to do so myself using a jcink help page but I've had a bit of trouble and it's not quite working properly.

<!-- USERLINKS -->

<!-- Start userbar HTML --> <div id='userbar'> <!-- Edit the Moderator and Admin links id='modcp' is viewable by Mods only id='admincp' is viewable by admins only --> <ul id='modbar' class='modbar' style='display:none;'> <li id='modcp'><a href="">Moderator CP</a></li> <li id='admincp'><a href="" target="_blank">Administrator CP</a></li> </ul> <!-- Edit the Member only links --> <ul id='member' class='bar'> <!-- Subaccount drop down --> <li class='dropmenu' id='subaccount'><a id='menu_sub' class='click'>Switch user</a> <ul class='drop' id='menu_content_sub'> <div class='drop-row'> <div id='account'></div> </div> </ul> </li> <!-- Member dropdown Contains Avatar and quick links --> <li class='dropmenu'><a id='menu_user' class='click'><!-- |name| --></a> <ul class='drop' id='menu_content_user'> <div class='drop-row'> <a href=''><div id='insert-avatar'></div></a> </div> <div class='qlinks'> <li><a href='<!-- |id| -->'> View profile page </a></li> <li><a href=''> Account settings </a></li> <li><a href="'index.php?showuser=<!-- |id| -->&CODE=friends','Friends','width=620,height=460,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes');void(0);"> My friends </a></li> <li><a href=""> New post </a></li> </div> </ul> </li> <!-- Messenger dropdown --> <li class='dropmenu' id='messenger'><a id='menu_messenger' class='click'>Messenger<span class='alert'><!-- |new_msg| --></span></a> <ul class='drop' id='menu_content_messenger'> <div class='drop-title'><span class='right desc'><a href=''>View all (<!-- |msg_total| -->)</a></span><span id='newmsg'>Messages</span></div> <div id='pmshere'><div class='menurow center' style='display:none;' id='nomsgs'>You don't have any messages</div></div> <div class='pformstrip center'><a href='#' class='popup click' popupId='messPopup' id='messPop'>Send a new message</a></div> </ul> </li> <li class#'dropmenu'><a href="" class="sbsp">Alerts (<!-- |new_alerts| -->)</a></li><li><a href="<!-- |auth_key| -->">Log Out</a></li> </ul> <!-- Guest only links --> <ul id='guest' class='bar'> <li><a href='#' class='popup click' id='loginPop' popupId='loginPopup'>Log In</a></li> <li><a href="">Register New Account</a></li> <li><a href=''>Resend Email Validation</a></li> </ul> </div>

The above code is the area where the alerts would be on the skin. I have probably put the code in incorrectly but I've left it in there so you can see what I have done.

Here is the website

Click Me
What exactly do you mean by it's not working properly? Just because the specificity can help speed up support. Additionally - guests cannot see anything having to do with alerts, really. I'd recommend providing the credentials of a test account (if done, this should simply be a regular member account and not a staff account by any means).

Kindly do not contact me on Discord or PM me for support.

No worries, I thought I was being specific.

Okay so I want to show the alerts on my userlinks bar and show them as a dropdown. I found the code on jcink support but it's not working on the skin. I don't know if I have messed up on the coding or not. But I have included the section of coding I put it into, earlier so you can see it.

I've set up a test account.

Username - Jcink Support
Password - Password

It shows the alerts and the number but when you click on it, it takes you to an error page.

Try replacing this:

<li class#'dropmenu'><a href="" class="sbsp">Alerts (<!-- |new_alerts| -->)</a></li>

With this:

<li class='dropmenu' id='alerts'><a id='menu_alerts' class='click'>Alerts<span class='alert'><!-- |new_alerts| --></span></a>
<ul class='drop' id='menu_content_alerts'>
<div class='drop-title'><span class='right desc'><a href="/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=alerts">View All</a></span></div>
<div id='alertshere'><iframe src=""></iframe>

I tried to make sense of it, but I might be overcomplicating it. If it's still not working for you, replace it with this:

<li class='dropmenu'><a href="/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=alerts" class="sbsp">Alerts (<!-- |new_alerts| -->)</a></li>

Kindly do not contact me on Discord or PM me for support.
