 Shoutbox on Index Only [SOLVED]
#
Is there a way to make the shoutbox appear only on the index, rather than on every page of the forum?
#
In your board wrappers change your body tag to:

CODE
<body id="<!-- |input_act| -->">

Then at the bottom add:

CODE
<script type="text/javascript">
if(!$('body#idx')) {
 $('****').remove();
}
</script>

Where I put ***** between the single quotation marks put the ID of the shoutbox. I don't know what it is http://files.b1.jcink.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif

Just use this code after <% BOARD %> in wrappers:

CODE
<script>
/* shoutbox on index only -- jcink */
if('<!-- |input_act| -->' != 'idx') { $('#shoutbox').remove(); }
</script>

Neither option worked, the shoutbox on the top of the forum still spawns itself on every page of my site http://files.b1.jcink.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif

John made a small error. It's either a "." or a "#" not both. If it has the id as shoutbox use the # and remove the "." if it's a class remove the # and keep the "."
All of that on the line with $('.#shoutbox')

tada! Thank you much! So much nicer and less intrusive http://files.b1.jcink.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

oh yeah im really sorry about that. I was lazy and copied that from somewhere else and just changed the attribute and left the . by mistake. I fixed the code for future reference!
