 Mini Profile Help Please
#
I am trying to make some changes to the mini profile. I think my problems may be because I am using a skin that was used on zetaboards/invisionfree and so there are differences.

1. I am fine with the look of the jcink mini profile but don't know how to even change to that. If I do and I want to eliminate age and relationship, is that possible?

2. How do I enable some custom fields. I have them listed for the profile but they don't show up in the mini profile.

3. Is there a way to show the links for a user to their social media with the corresponding logo boxes.

4. I would like to put a border around the different sections to make it look more organized.

Hopefully I didn't just confuse everything lol. Thanks in advance for your help.

My board is: https://genoacity.jcink.net/index.php?act=idx to view: login is Tester password is Sample

Your board requires guests to log in to view it, I'm assuming you're using the default HTML template for the mini profile and not a custom one?

I setup a test account so you can login.

login: Tester
password: Sample

I didn't change anything in the mini profile when we transferred the skin over. (Carousel theme from zetaboards). It seems to have changed some things.

1. You probably want to setup your own custom HTML template, as linked below.

2. You can add them to your HTML template.

3. You mean the user links their social media account in a profile field and it displays as a hyperlinked image?

4. You can accomplish this with HTML templates too.

Yes, that is what I mean about the social media links, so the user can post their links to their accounts.

I haven't setup a HTML template before but will go try that now. I may have some questions. There weren't any default ones in the ACP to work from but it looks like what you linked to should help me with that. Thanks!

I'm getting there! I've got the mini profile changed. The name of the custom field shows but not the information. I put some test info in my profile and saved it, but it does now show up on those lines.

Also I have the profile split into 3 sections and am wondering if there is an easy way to put a container line around them. I'm sure there is but I am drawing a blank!

Here it is:

<div class="postbit">
<div align='center'>
<!-- |avatar| --><br />
<!-- |title| --><br />
</div>
<br>
</div>
<div class="postbit">
<img src='http://files.b1.jcink.com/themes/default/users.png'> Group: <!-- |member_group| -->
</div>
<div class="postbit">
<img src='http://files.b1.jcink.com/themes/default/posts.png'> Posts: <!-- |posts| -->
</div>
<div class="postbit">
<img src='http://files.b1.jcink.com/themes/default/joined.png'> Joined: <!-- |member_joined| -->
</div>
<br>

<div class="postbit">

Location: <!-- |location| --><br />
About Me: <!-- |About Me| --><br />
Fav Y&R Character: <!-- |Fav Y&R Character| --><br />
</div>
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 14px;">
<!-- |warn_text| --> <!-- |warn_minus| --><!-- |warn_img| --><!-- |warn_add| -->
</div>

You have to use <!-- |field_#| --> as indicated in the documentation, where '#' is the ID of the profile field.

You can wrap a DIV with a class around the entirety of the template to add a container and style it.

Thank you Cory. I think I saw the one field above saying location and proceeded to enter the wrong thing below. It now works.

Now onto creating the container.

I really appreciate your help!

One more question. I am able to get the icons for the social media in the mini profile but how can I set it so when someone clicks on the icon it goes to the users social media as opposed listing the link after the icon?

Try using an HTML hyperlink with the field variable:

CODE
<a href="<!-- |field_#| -->"><img src="IMAGE_URL" alt="" /></a>

Almost there but I am getting an error message instead of linking to Twitter.

404 error: Page not found. Please refresh this page to verify.

Remove the number sign (#).
